Strategic Risk Management Role within Global Risk Division

We are seeking a seasoned professional to enhance our Global Risk division, which is dedicated to managing a comprehensive array of risks that impact HSBC's operations worldwide. This includes security, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation, and geopolitical risks. Our team utilizes expertise, insight, and integrity to tackle both established threats and emerging challenges, ensuring the sustainable growth of HSBC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee critical risks influencing the China Global Private Banking & Wealth (GPB&W) sector
  • Provide guidance on non-financial risk areas
  • Manage risks associated with the Pan WPB structure and business consolidation
  • Perform ongoing evaluations and audits of the GPB&W business control framework
  • Supervise regulatory and audit assessments

Business Impact:

  • Engage with the Second Line of Defense to assess the GPB&W risk landscape
  • Track essential business processes and initiate corrective actions for identified risk concerns
  • Oversee risks tied to GPB&W business expansion and integration initiatives
  • Facilitate discussions with control teams to address significant risk matters and exchange best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • At least 15 years of experience in risk management
  • Comprehensive understanding of the GPB&W sector and risk management protocols
  • Awareness of HSBC's operational dynamics and industry trends
  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape
  • Aptitude for decision-making in complex scenarios with substantial business implications
  • Proactive and collaborative approach
  • Strong organizational, planning, and negotiation capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management
