Opportunity in Risk Oversight within Global Risk Division

We are seeking a seasoned professional to enhance our Global Risk team, which serves as the authoritative risk management body for HSBC on a worldwide scale, addressing a diverse array of risk categories. Our focus encompasses security, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation, and geopolitical risks. The Global Risk team utilizes expertise, insight, and ethical standards to mitigate known threats and adapt to new risks, ensuring HSBC's sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee critical risks impacting the China Global Private Banking & Wealth (GPB&W) sector
  • Provide guidance on non-financial risk areas
  • Manage risks associated with the Pan WPB framework and business consolidation
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations and audits of the GPB&W business control framework
  • Supervise regulatory and audit assessments

Business Impact:

  • Engage with the Second Line of Defense to assess the GPB&W risk landscape
  • Track essential business operations and implement corrective measures for identified risk challenges
  • Administer risks related to GPB&W business expansion and integration initiatives
  • Facilitate discussions with control teams to evaluate significant risk matters and exchange best practices

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant field
  • At least 15 years of experience in risk management
  • Comprehensive understanding of GPB&W operations and risk management frameworks
  • Insight into HSBC's operational dynamics and industry trends
  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape
  • Aptitude for decision-making in complex scenarios with substantial business implications
  • Proactive and collaborative approach
  • Strong skills in planning, organization, and negotiation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
