USD 90,000 - 120,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Description:

Budget Associate Role

The Budget Associate will support the Strategy, Policy and Budget (SPB) Department in strategically planning and managing AIIB's budgetary resources to implement its Corporate Strategy and business priorities.

  • Support the full cycle of budget management, including annual budget planning, monitoring, reporting, and controlling the administrative and capital budgets.
  • Advance cost accounting to deepen understanding of costs and assist in strategic resource planning, including cost tracking, allocation, management reports, system improvements, and data quality.
  • Improve budget controls and reporting through process enhancements and optimization of SAP SAC, SAP S4HANA, and surrounding systems throughout the planning-to-execution-to-reporting process.
  • Deliver specific budget management-related tasks, such as reviewing major expenditures, benchmarking, long-term cost projections, outsourcing planning, updating policies and procedures.
  • Participate in large-scale projects representing the SPB Budget team to drive cost efficiency, advance strategic resource allocation, and contribute to major corporate development initiatives.
  • Advise Management on budget matters and respond to ad-hoc requests from stakeholders across the Bank.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Minimum requirement: Bachelor's degree, preferably Master's degree or equivalent in business administration, finance, accounting, or economics; relevant qualifications like CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA would be advantageous.
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business planning, budgeting, cost management, and/or financial planning and analysis, with experience dealing with relevant financial systems in financial services industry and/or MDBs, or in global consultancy firms focusing on large financial services clients.
* Substantial knowledge and understanding of resource allocation and its connection to core operations, finance, and strategy/business plan setting and implementation.
* Proven technical competence with a global financial institution, top-tier professional service firm, or complex multinational company, preferably experience in financial and strategic planning.
* Passion for international development.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, proven experience in business writing for senior management and board-level papers.
* Superior skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical tools, along with strong analytical skills.
* Good team player with strong initiative, interpersonal, and influencing skills to manage diverse stakeholders and build consensus.
* Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
