About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Research and Development Professional to join our team in China. As an expert in formulation principles, you will play a key role in driving innovation and growth within our organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop new products and technologies in the field of coating additives.
- Provide technical support to key interfaces, including application technology, procurement, global supply chain management, marketing, production, product safety, regulatory guidance, IP-Management, and product management.
- Implement our innovation strategy and monitor the IP landscape, particularly in Asia.
- Contribute to the development and exchange of expertise with global experts.
- Support product groups with troubleshooting, process optimization, raw material approvals, and technical guidance.
- Design and execute scientific experiments and tests, and translate results into practical applications through collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Evaluate local universities and startups, initiate, and maintain cooperation in the area of responsibility.
- Perform analytical measurements, elucidate chemical structures, and gather competitive intelligence using state-of-the-art analytical know-how.
- Maintain professional contact with customers when necessary.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in organic/polymer chemistry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in interfacial chemistry, coating, and ink application, preferably with siloxane chemistry and/or paint application expertise.
- Experience in Research & Development is preferred.
- Ability to act independently and use comprehensive knowledge/skills to conduct research and development projects.
- Excellent communication skills, proficient in English and Chinese, with the ability to build trust and establish relationships with internal and external partners.
- Able to work across functional and cultural boundaries.
About the Opportunity
This role offers a competitive salary of approximately $120,000 per annum, based on industry standards and market conditions in China.
