Job Summary:

As a key member of the global distribution team, you will be responsible for leading the China Distribution Team to execute order fulfillment, manage a team of seven employees, and maintain warehouse operations. You will work closely with the Greater China WD team to address stock shortage risk and allocation, ensuring the supply plan is aligned with sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the China Distribution Team to execute order fulfillment, providing external and internal clients with ordered products on time, complete, and using efficient and effective processes and distribution methods.
  • Manage a team of seven employees spanning warehouse operations, trade operations, logistics, supply chain coordination, and planning/buying.
  • Maintain and develop the workforce of the China DC in line with the services required, using the processes and practices of Waters Corporation.
  • Manage inbound and outbound flows from the DC, day-to-day warehouse operations, and minimize freight costs.
  • Build and own strong relationships with 3rd party warehouse and logistic vendors, managing their performance according to established KPIs and driving improvements.
  • Actively manage inventory, working with Global Planning, responsible for optimizing inventory levels, E&O, and warehouse space.
  • Create annual operating plans and ensure warehousing & logistics costs are in line with those plans.
  • Liaise with finance to analyze cost variance, prepare forecasts, and define action plans on a monthly basis.
  • Work seamlessly with the Greater China WD team and participate in S&OP to address stock shortage risk and allocation, ensuring the supply plan is aligned with sales targets.
  • Maintain and uphold compliance standards for quality, trade/customs, and IVD products, providing solutions to mitigate compliance risk.
  • Actively engage in the advancement & adoption of SAP and other tools to enhance distribution services and promote efficient processes.
  • Track and communicate the impact of external developments in China, events, and trends in the transportation area.
  • Identify and lead Continuous Improvement projects using Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and optimize costs in logistics and distribution operations.
  • Further expand and modernize Waters global distribution and logistics capabilities in China in conjunction with other global operations & WD functions.
  • Develop and implement multi-year logistics strategy for the organization to meet China business growth needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or business.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in supply chain, distribution, logistics.
  • Experience in a managerial role with a logistics service provider or the logistics organization of a manufacturing company.
  • People leader who leads by example and can implement processes & drive performance.
  • Self-starter, responsible, reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle data, perform analyses for decisions, and generate insightful reports and presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to interact with a wide range of people – across functions and countries.
  • Experience with financial processes: budgeting, reporting, analysis of results.
  • Experience with an ERP system and planning concepts.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, tasks & day-to-day operations.
  • Flexible in thinking, able to connect business requirements with operational possibilities.
