About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Distribution Manager/Senior Manager to lead our China Distribution Team at Waters Corporation. As a key member of our global logistics and supply chain organization, you will be responsible for executing the primary activity of Order Fulfillment, providing external and internal clients with ordered products on time, complete, and using the most efficient and effective processes and distribution methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the China Distribution Team to execute Order Fulfillment, ensuring timely and complete delivery of products to clients.
  • Manage a team of seven employees spanning Warehouse Operations, Trade Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain coordination & Planning/Buying.
  • Maintain and develop the workforce of the China DC in line with the services required, using Waters Corporation's processes and practices.
  • Manage inbound and outbound flows from the DC, day-to-day warehouse operations, and minimize freight costs.
  • Build and own strong relationships with 3rd party warehouse and logistic vendors, managing their performance according to established KPIs and driving improvements.
  • Actively manage inventory, working with Global Planning, responsible for optimizing inventory levels, E&O, and warehouse space.
  • Create annual operating plans and ensure warehousing & logistics costs are in line with those plans.
  • Liaise with finance to analyze cost variance, prepare forecasts, and define action plans on a monthly basis.
  • Work seamlessly with the Greater China WD team and participate in S&OP to address stock shortage risk and allocation, ensuring the supply plan is aligned with sales targets.
  • Maintain and uphold compliance standards for quality, trade/customs, and IVD products, providing solutions to mitigate compliance risk.
  • Actively engage in the advancement and adoption of SAP and other tools to enhance distribution services and promote efficient processes.
  • Track and communicate the impact of external developments in China, events, and trends in the transportation area.
  • Identify and lead Continuous Improvement projects using Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and optimize costs in logistics and distribution operations (OTIF, on-time delivery).
  • Further expand and modernize Waters global distribution and logistics capabilities in China in conjunction with other global operations & WD functions.
  • Key member of the global freight RFQ team and all Waters division freight improvements.
  • Develop and implement a multi-year logistics strategy for the organization to meet China business growth needs.
  • Lead and/or actively participate in global programs; oversee the implementation of transformational strategies in multiple regions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Supply Chain, Distribution, Logistics.
  • Experience in a managerial role with a logistics service provider or the logistics organization of a manufacturing company.
  • People leader who leads by example and can implement processes & drive performance.
  • Self-starter, responsible, reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle data, perform analyses for decisions, and generate insightful reports and presentations.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, plus an ability to interact with a wide range of people – across functions and countries; with internal and external parties.
  • Experience with financial processes: budgeting, reporting, analysis of results.
  • Experience with an ERP system and planning concepts.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, tasks & day-to-day operations.
  • Flexible in thinking, can connect business requirements with operational possibilities.
