About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Usability Designer to join our team at Philips. As a Usability Designer, you will play a critical role in creating safe and effective products that deliver great user experiences to our customers.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop user-centered products that meet the needs of our customers.
- Conduct user research to understand user needs, workflows, and pain points.
- Develop and execute usability studies to inform design decisions and improve product usability.
- Partner with engineering, marketing, clinical, service, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure safe and effective use of our products.
- Stay up-to-date with medical device regulations and advise teams on development needs.
- Contribute to the usability-related innovation of products and processes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive experience as a Usability specialist or related field.
- Academic background in industrial design, product design, or cognitive psychology with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction or Human Factors.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Broad experience in Medical Devices or other safety-critical areas.
- Experience with usability standards specific to medical devices (IEC 62366, FDA guidance, EU-MDR, and CMDE).
- Understanding of risk management principles (e.g., ISO and their application to medical device usability).
