The Role:

  • Conceive original ideas for new products and introduce them into practice.
  • Responsible for product development from market definition through production and release.
  • Work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure the right voice of customer is obtained and converted into a TE design conceptualization and preliminary product specification.
  • Conceive concepts, perform feasibility studies, and run mechanical and thermal simulations.
  • Create detailed designs, including 2D/3D drawings, and perform DFMEA/tolerance analysis.
  • Build prototype samples, perform validation, complete product qualification, and finalize product specification.
  • Provide technical support to Operations teams for efficiency improvement and safe launch.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering work experience with electrical components, devices, mechanical structure design, manufacturing tooling development (stamping, molding, assembly, plating), or manufacturing process development.
  • Expertise in socket design, connector design, cable assembly design, or other relevant mechanic design and development, including material selection, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, product qualification, etc.
  • Proficient user of finite element analysis software (Ansys, Workbench) and proficient in developing and writing design objectives for product specifications.
  • Strong understanding of competitive products and intellectual property positions.
  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written) to facilitate global communication both internally and with external customers.

Salary:$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
