Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the go-to expert for battery materials, offering technical assistance and insights to both internal teams and external clients.
- Design, plan, and implement technical application projects that highlight the advantages of Lubrizol's polymers and additives in battery technologies.
- Facilitate customer interactions by delivering product presentations, gathering customer feedback, and providing technical assistance.
- Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of battery manufacturing processes, including conducting line surveys to ensure successful product launches.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to create and execute technical programs and solutions tailored to client needs.
- Perform technical evaluations and analyses of battery materials and manufacturing methods to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.
- Keep abreast of industry developments, innovations, and emerging technologies within the battery sector.
- Represent Lubrizol at technical conferences, seminars, and workshops to expand knowledge and network with industry professionals.
- Work effectively with diverse teams across different regions to promote clear communication and collaboration on technical initiatives.
- Assist in the creation and delivery of training programs for both internal staff and clients.
- Anticipate travel requirements of approximately 30% of the time.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in battery materials with a robust understanding of lithium-ion battery components.
- Extensive knowledge of polymeric binders and materials used in batteries is advantageous.
- Practical experience in laboratory settings, particularly in formulation development and battery cell production.
- Familiarity with safe laboratory practices adhering to local and corporate standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a knack for identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of additional Asian languages is a plus.
