About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Service Specialist to join our team at Lubrizol Corporation. As a key member of our surface protection business, you will be responsible for providing technical support to customers in the GC industry, working closely with our marketing team to identify new development opportunities, and leading regional projects as a technical leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to customers in the GC industry, including customer visits, troubleshooting, and sales project support.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through problem-solving, product recommendation, and technical consulting.
  • Fulfill technical work requests, design experiments, and perform lab bench work to analyze and write reports to meet customer project targets.
  • Develop application processing skills and knowledge, train customer technicians, and provide technical service and troubleshooting in the field.
  • Work closely with the surface protection marketing team and customers to explore new application development opportunities, conduct feasibility studies, and implement projects.
  • Lead regional PPMP projects as a technical leader, monitor and report milestones timely and effectively.
  • Define project planning and prioritization, manage project execution, and ensure project objectives, deliverables, and milestones are met within agreed budgets, timing, and quality standards.
  • Develop customized test protocols and simulation capabilities, create application databases, and provide technical presentations to customers and commercial partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology developments and communicate with the Lubrizol technical community.
  • Support requirements with other technical personnel in the region.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree or above in chemistry and polymer or related field.
  • Extrusion processing technology preferred.
  • Film science, injection molding, colorants & dispersants, coating, and/or adhesive application knowledge beneficial.
  • Minimum 6 years of industrial working experience in product and application development at a multinational chemical company, with additional technical service experience beneficial.
  • In-depth understanding of polymer structure-processing-property relationships and hands-on experience in polymer formulation design and processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, innovative thinking, and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated towards goals and objectives, with excellent organization and planning skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Fluency in oral and written English communication and good presentation skills required.
