Accountability:
As a Technical Service and Application Development Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers in the surface protection business. You will work closely with our marketing team to identify new development opportunities, develop application development plans, and execute projects according to project milestones. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Fulfilling day-to-day technical service operations, including customer visits, on-site troubleshooting, and sales project support.
- Measuring, monitoring, and maintaining customer relationships, and developing strong customer bonds through problem-solving, product recommendation, and sales project development execution.
- Fulfilling technical work requests, designing experiments, performing lab bench work, and writing reports to meet technical targets of customer projects.
- Developing related application processing skills and knowledge, training customer technicians in the lab, and providing technical service and troubleshooting in the field.
- Working closely with our surface protection marketing team and customers to explore new application development opportunities, conduct feasibility studies, and implement projects.
- Leading regional PPMP projects as a technical leader, monitoring and reporting milestones in a timely and effective manner.
- Defining project planning and prioritization, and managing the execution of the plan in line with Estane's project guidelines, ensuring that project objectives, deliverables, and milestones are met within the agreed budget, timing, and quality standards.
- Developing customized test protocols and simulation capabilities, and creating application databases.
- Providing technical presentations to customers and commercial partners, staying up-to-date with the latest technology developments, and maintaining close contact with the industry.
- Keeping in touch with the Lubrizol technical community, staying informed about new application development and new processing technology development activities.
- Supporting requirements with other technical personnel in the region.
Requirements – Education, Experience, Skills:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's Degree or above in chemistry and polymer or related field.
- Technical skills in extrusion processing technology, film science, injection molding, colorants and dispersants, coating, and/or adhesive application.
- At least 6 years of industrial working experience in product and application development at a multinational national chemical company, with additional technical service experience being beneficial.
- An in-depth understanding of polymer structure-processing-property relationships, hands-on experience in polymer formulation design and processing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, innovative and creative thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, presentation, and listening skills.
- High motivation towards goals and objectives, excellent organization and planning skills, and the ability to multitask.
- Fluency in oral and written English communication and good presentation skills.
