Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Manager to join our team at Takeda. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of MSLs in the development and execution of medical strategies to support the company's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement regional medical plans based on competitor intelligence, academic needs, market situation, and provincial policy to meet unmet regional needs.
  • Review and approve budget proposals from MSLs, working closely with the TA Head to allocate resources effectively.
  • Ensure that KOL engagement plans and reports are accurate and executed appropriately.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to MSLs on a regular basis, supporting them in building and maintaining long-term scientific collaboration relationships with KOLs.
  • Review and record KOL visit reports, using systems such as VEEVA CRM and MEDIsource.
  • Lead MSLs in sharing medical insights from KOLs with internal stakeholders in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Coordinate cross-regional medical projects, overseeing overall management and work assignment.
  • Support MSLs in identifying KOL research capabilities and interests, and feasibility of investigator-initiated studies (IISRs) with Takeda.
  • Work with internal stakeholders, including medical affairs, commercial, and compliance teams, to ensure achievement of medical plan goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, delivering fair and balanced information on Takeda products, therapeutic options, and disease states.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in medicine or pharmacy.
  • At least 3 years of medical affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or 1 year of people management experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Clinical practicing experience in relevant therapeutic areas is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, fundamental knowledge of clinical study methodology, and customer focus with excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Interpersonal skills, leadership, and motivation skills to lead and coach a team of MSLs, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to build and maintain a strong network of scientific relationships with stakeholders, and maintain an understanding of HCPs to achieve trusted advisor status.
  • Highly developed medical project management skills to deliver complex tasks within timeframe and milestones.
  • Innovative sense and willingness to drive a complex and changing environment, and effectively manage and resolve issues from a medical perspective.
  • Awareness of and adherence to company policies and compliance requirements.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken business and academic English.
Travel Requirements

The MSL Manager will be a half-office based and half-field based role, requiring travel during holidays as needed by business requirements.
