Position Overview

Join our Product & Test Engineering team, where you will play a vital role in the engineering and manufacturing support of Western Digital's leading SATA and NVMe Solid-State Drives (SSDs). Your responsibilities will include:

  • Validating SSD test programs, conducting failure analysis, and implementing cost reduction and yield enhancement strategies.
  • Providing New Product Introduction (NPI) and High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) production support for SSD test development, optimizing manufacturing workflows, and reducing quality control failures and Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Defective Parts Per Million (DPPM).
  • Offering engineering support for SSD products post-transition from design to high-volume production, collaborating with design, process, validation, and reliability engineers to resolve issues.
  • Working closely with contract manufacturers and internal R&D teams, including NAND, ASIC, Validation, and Firmware, to develop and validate effective HVM-friendly manufacturing test processes.

Position Requirements

As a member of the Product & Test Engineering team, you will be responsible for:

  • Engineering and manufacturing support for Western Digital's industry-leading SATA and NVMe Solid-State Drives.
  • Validating SSD test programs, conducting failure analysis, and driving cost reduction and yield improvement initiatives.
  • Providing NPI and HVM production support for SSD test development, enhancing manufacturing processes, and minimizing QC failures and RMA DPPM.
  • Supporting SSD products after the transition from design to high-volume production, collaborating with design, process, validation, and reliability engineers to troubleshoot and resolve challenges.
  • Partnering with contract manufacturers and corporate internal R&D teams to develop and verify effective HVM-friendly manufacturing test processes.
