About the Role

TopTutorJob is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cambridge Music Teacher to join our team at an international school in China. As a key member of the music department, you will be responsible for teaching music to students from various backgrounds, inspiring them to explore their artistic talents and develop a love for music.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver music lesson plans that strictly follow the Cambridge syllabus guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of the department's curriculum and resources.
  • Supervise and evaluate the music curriculum to ensure quality teaching meets Cambridge standards and the school's strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement engaging teaching methods and assessment strategies.
  • Provide music-related extra-curricular activities for students, such as concerts, competitions, and talent shows.
  • Continuously develop your subject knowledge and teaching methods through professional development.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks requested by the Head of Secondary and the International Principal.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • PGCE (with QTS preferable)/iPGCE or an equivalent teaching license from home country.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent successful teaching experience with IGCSE and A Level Music, preferably in an international school.
  • Extensive knowledge of music theory and ability to teach it effectively.
  • Familiarity with the British education system.
  • Demonstrated experience in inspiring students in a stimulating learning environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Evidence of participation in regular professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Native English speaker.
  • Related degrees in the teaching subject.
  • Minimum 3 years' full-time related teaching experience in international schools.
  • A positive attitude.
