About the Role

Société Générale Assurances is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Multinational Corporate Banking team in Beijing, China. As the Head of Multinational Corporate Banking, you will be responsible for deepening relationships with existing clients and exploring new opportunities in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase commercial banking penetration with a focus on green structured finance, market risks, working capital loans, cash management, supply chain, and trade finance solutions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with multinational corporate clients and international financial sponsors in China.
  • Collaborate with Global Relationship Managers to stay informed about local developments and opportunities, and to ensure alignment with global account strategies.
  • Work closely with business lines to identify, sell, and execute deals, and to supervise the sales activities of the FIC, PCM, and Trade Finance Sales teams.
  • Guide Credit Analysts to ensure credit proposals are structured and priced properly to protect the bank's interests.
  • Plan regular visits to clients to update business development and monitor existing client portfolios for early warning signals on counterparty and operational risks.
  • Work with Compliance and KYC teams to ensure all KYC requirements are met for new and existing clients.
  • Respond to enquiries and referrals from overseas SG locations on banking services in China.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a business discipline, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in investment or commercial banking, with at least 3 years as a team manager, preferably with a major international bank.
  • Solid accounting, financial, and credit analysis skills.
  • Sound knowledge of different bank products, particularly investment banking and commercial banking products.
  • Investment banking experience is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with clients.
  • Good presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Team playing with leadership skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English (both written and spoken).
  • Good PC skills, including PPT, Word, and Excel.
  • CFA or ACCA qualification is a plus.
  • Frequent business travel is required.
