Job Profile – Catalog Associate – Retail Business Services (RBS)

Retail Business Services (RBS) operates in a global ecommerce environment, serving a diverse set of businesses across fourteen countries. As an integral part of Amazon's online product lifecycle and buying operations, RBS ensures the company remains competitive in the online retail space.

The RBS team focuses on providing high-quality product detail and discoverability to drive traffic and conversion for eligible vendors. This role has a direct impact on customer buying decisions and online user experience.

The Amazon Vendor Service (AVS) Catalog Associate is an entry-level role in the RBS organization, responsible for ensuring the priority processing of catalog and merchandising vendor services. The AVS team aims to improve the overall Amazon vendor experience by driving service performance through quality, timeliness, and pro-activeness of product information provided by manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle day-to-day task volumes and ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met per quality standards.
  • Maintain records of daily work by updating trackers to reflect completed tasks.
  • Flag potential SLA defaults or quality issues to the manager or lead in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with the JP retail team via business mail, collect business requirements, and reflect on daily operations to improve catalog services and customer online experience.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to explore new things, and curiosity.
  • Fluent in both written and reading Japanese (Passed JLPT N1).
  • Good written and reading skills in English.
  • Good communication skills – ability to communicate with internal/external stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • MS Office proficiency, especially in Excel, with the ability to mine voluminous data for specific details according to instructions provided.
  • Familiarity with navigating the internet – research techniques on the internet and finding required information quickly.
  • Strong learning ability.
  • Ability to work under pressure with high volume workloads or complex circumstances; comply with Service Level Agreement requirements.
  • Experience in creating/leading operational processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working experience in Japan is preferred.
  • Experience working on process improvement processes like Kaizen is a plus.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Tech skills, such as SQL, Python (process automation), RPA techniques (Robotic Process Automation).
