Regional Procurement Manager

Position: Regional Category Manager - Formulation Chemistry
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the formulation of a global category strategy and execute it for your designated portfolio, ensuring alignment and compliance with established processes to achieve desired business outcomes in your region.
- Foster close collaboration with business units and cultivate effective, trustworthy relationships with key stakeholders at global, regional, and local levels.
- Oversee supply agreements and contracts, managing the entire lifecycle of contractual obligations while minimizing exposure to risks through well-defined terms and conditions in collaboration with the legal team.
- Conduct thorough analyses of purchasing markets, including trends, conditions, and competitive players, providing tailored market intelligence to mitigate supply risks and enhance competitive positioning.
- Manage supplier relationships by implementing effective supplier management practices, enhancing supplier performance, and integrating sustainable business principles into supplier engagements.
- Plan and execute sourcing initiatives through external partners to secure a competitive edge.
- Support local diversity and inclusion initiatives as appropriate.
- Collaborate with strategic suppliers and Bayer's R&D teams to drive innovation.
- Achieve annual targets for savings, price index improvements, working capital enhancements, sustainability goals, and other key performance indicators in regulated markets.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure the delivery of required services in the region.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, such as an MBA or Master's in a business or technical discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial capabilities at a general management level.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, presentation, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage virtual teams effectively.
- Strong organizational, executive-level, intercultural, and interpersonal skills.
- Exemplary analytical decision-making abilities and creative thinking.
- Specific expertise in strategic procurement, quality management systems, and familiarity with Japanese and Korean chemical regulatory requirements and logistics practices.
- Experience managing Japanese suppliers, with a deep understanding of cultural values, business customs, and technical language; a minimum of 3 years in a business capacity within a Japanese context is essential.
- Ability to manage Korean suppliers would be considered an additional asset.
