Job Description:

The Mechanical SIE Team Lead will be responsible for driving quality expectations with carbon fiber vendors and interacting with material planning, new product development, and global supply management teams. This role involves following the Ok2X process, managing vendor deliverables, performing on-site audits, and leading supplier assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management: Drive quality expectations with carbon fiber vendors and interact with material planning, new product development, and global supply management teams.
  • Process Compliance: Follow the Ok2X process and manage vendor deliverables to meet schedules.
  • Audit and Assessment: Perform on-site vendor audits, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Qualification Process: Ensure documentation completion and approve changes to supplier-related documents.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Lead supplier assessments for new vendors, travel to vendor locations, and assess technical capability and capacity.
  • OQC Activities: Lead OQC activities at vendor sites and ensure Ok2Ship approval for final manufacturing locations.

Requirements:

  • Work Experience: 8 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing environments, especially aviation products.
  • Candidate Skills: Familiarity with carbon fiber manufacture processes, experience with plastic, machining, CNC, laser etching, assembly, tooling, molding, and measurement SOPs.
  • Communication and Quality Control: Good English communication skills and knowledge in QCP, MSA, SPC, GD&T, APQP, PPAP, and quality control (cosmetic, dimensional, functional).
  • Schedule Management: Ability to follow up with suppliers, monitor progress, and manage schedules.
  • Demand for Flexible Work Environment: Familiarity with low-volume, high-variety manufacturing parts and processes.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in CAD software to review drawings, parts, and assemblies, as well as statistical tools and software for data analysis.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
