Primary Education Specialist

We are an international school based in Shanghai, providing bilingual teaching to students from first grade to the 12th grade of elementary, middle and high school. Our school follows the Chinese national curriculum and has elements from the British IGCSE and A levels curriculums to meet the academic needs of its students.
Job Overview
This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tailored curriculum plans for Primary pupils, collaborating with staff and Senior Management to choose relevant courses;
- Contribute to the development of schemes of work for all year groups, ensuring consistency and coherence;
- Participate in regular meetings of Primary school staff to discuss curriculum planning, pupil progress, and teaching and learning needs, sharing best practices and expertise;
- Work with other Primary School teachers to develop policies and ensure effective implementation;
- Evaluate and grade pupils' work, providing constructive feedback and maintaining individual records of progress and development;
- Stay updated on new topic areas, maintain subject knowledge, and devise innovative curriculum resources;
- Select and utilize a range of diverse learning resources and equipment to enhance teaching quality;
- Engage in professional development through INSET, school training events, observation, and review to maximize personal teaching effectiveness;
Requirements
- A degree and teaching qualification in primary education, such as B.Ed. or P.G.C.E., or QTS equivalent;
- A minimum two years' experience teaching in a primary school setting, preferably overseas or with international pupils;
- An exceptional track record of pastoral care and ability to prioritize student happiness and wellbeing;
- Prior experience working with students for whom English is not their first language is beneficial.
Compensation Package
- A competitive monthly salary ranging from RMB 22,000 to 29,000 before tax, dependent on experience and qualifications;
- An accommodation allowance of RMB 8,000 per month;
