Role Overview

• We are seeking a senior compliance leader to oversee product safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance across global toy operations.
• This role supports the Global Head of Compliance in implementing QA strategies, leading regional QA/QC teams, and ensuring all products meet international safety standards and customer expectations.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the toy industry—covering both soft and hard toys—and a strong background in managing compliance across trading and factory environments.
• The position is based in the China office and will lead compliance efforts across China, Vietnam, and Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Global Head of Compliance in QA plan setup and implementation
• Lead and manage the Product Compliance and Quality Assurance team in the China office
• Set up and manage equivalent teams in the Vietnam office
• Ensure product quality meets customer requirements and legal safety standards
• Ensure all new projects are safety-compliant and delivered on time
• Ensure approved vendors meet social and security compliance requirements
• Prevent product recalls or withdrawals through proactive quality enforcement
• Enforce internal quality mindset across all approved vendors
• Create and maintain quality documentation including SOPs, product test plans, conformity plans, and inspection specifications
• Participate in early design stages to assess essential safety risks
• Perform other duties as assigned by top management

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, quality management, or a related discipline
• 15+ years of experience in the toy industry, with 6+ years in a managerial role
• Experience in both OEM trading and factory operations preferred
• Proven track record managing toy projects for well-known brands
• Strong technical knowledge of toy manufacturing process controls
• Deep understanding of global toy safety regulations and standards
• Effective communicator with cross-functional teams and external vendors
• Strong analytical skills based on factual data
• Sound decision-making, people management, and leadership capabilities
• Familiarity with social and security compliance standards
• Knowledge of major US retailer programs (e.g., Walmart, Target)
• Proficient in quality tools and methodologies
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
• Willing to be based in the China office with frequent travel to Vietnam
