About the Role

ECS is seeking a
senior-level Global Sourcing Consultant
to help us expand, strengthen, and optimize our supplier base for
commercial kitchen equipment
used across QSRs, HoReCa, hotels, cafés, bakeries, and cloud kitchens.

This is a
part-time, remote consulting engagement
ideal for an experienced procurement/sourcing professional with strong factory networks in
China and India
.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier & Product Sourcing

  • Identify top-tier factories (China/India primarily; Turkey/Vietnam/SEA secondarily).
  • Source hot-line equipment: ovens, ranges, fryers, grills, salamanders, etc.
  • Source cold-line equipment: chillers, freezers, under-counters, display fridges, back-bars, etc.
  • Identify substitutes for major European brands at better price–quality ratios.
  • Bring 2–3 new product or innovation ideas quarterly.

2. Market & Product Intelligence

  • Track new designs, models, and innovations across Asia.
  • Benchmark Asian suppliers vs European brands (quality, specs, pricing, pros/cons).

3. Commercial Negotiation

  • Lead negotiations: prices, MOQs, payment terms, volume breaks.
  • Provide clear costing inputs: ex-factory prices, incoterms, freight assumptions.
  • Support re-negotiations with existing ECS suppliers where needed.

4. Reporting & Outputs

  • Shortlist of recommended factories with contacts and strengths.
  • Product sheets with specs, prices, and MOQs.
  • Comparison sheets: European vs Asian equivalents.
  • Participate in virtual review sessions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years sourcing/procurement experience in commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Must have experience sourcing from China and/or India.
  • Strong familiarity with HoReCa/QSR equipment categories.
  • Experience replacing European brands with Asian alternatives is a huge plus.
  • Sharp factory evaluation instincts; can differentiate traders vs real factories.
  • Strong negotiator, structured communicator, highly independent.

Engagement Model

  • Part-time / freelancer / consultant.
  • Fully remote.
  • Monthly retainer and/or project-based structure (e.g., ovens project, cold room project).
  • Travel to factories & fairs can be arranged separately.
