Synopsis

The role of the Manager Diplomatic Affairs & Government Excellence in China is to ensure compliance with Chinese national and local government policies related to diplomatic affairs, represent the company at diplomatic events and activities in China, act as the single focal point for the company’s teams when dealing with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other diplomacy-related issues, and lead the company’s participation in Chinese Government Excellence programs.

Accountabilities
  • Assist in the preparation and facilitation of high-level visits by Chinese government delegations to Etihad, coordinating logistics and meeting agendas.
  • Coordinate with UAE Embassy and Consulates General to support Etihad Inquires to China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and CAAC.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations from government that relate to Etihad China existing or potential stations. 
  • Assess the potential impact on operational and financial aspects of Etihad (both passenger and cargo flights) . 
  • Prepare detailed reports and impact assessments regarding relevant polices and regulatory changes, monitoring and analysing legislation related to airport incentive, traffic right and slot management. 
  • Monitor eligibility and coordinate disbursement of funds with relevant authorities
  • Coordinate the translation of subsidy agreements and other critical documents between Etihad HQ and Chinese authorities.  
  • Build and maintain relations with key government officials, regulators, and industry associations.  Maintain regular contact with key airport authorities. Facilitate collaboration with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), handling traffic rights, permits, and joint marketing campaigns. Coordinate with PR agencies to manage media coverage in Mainland China.

 

 

Education & Experience

Graduate with at least 5 years manager experience including at least two years Government and/or diplomatic experience.

Excellent interpersonal and written English skills.

Determined and able to travel
