Organizational Scope

The Polyurethanes’ Communications team is organized regionally (Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific), with the three regional communications heads reporting to the VP of Global Communications, who is a member of the Polyurethanes’ Global Leadership Team and is based in the global HQ near Houston, Texas.

Job Purpose:

The Communications team serving the Polyurethanes business in the APAC region is responsible for all aspects of external and internal communications. The prime focus is marketing communications, targeting customers, potential customers and influencers, with the overall aim of increasing profitable sales.

The communications team works very closely with the regional Strategic Marketing teams to develop plans and content to promote polyurethanes products to the marketplace. A multi-channel approach is required for promotion in the B2B landscape and all relevant channels, including social media, traditional media, web, email, webinars, trade shows etc. are leveraged in our marketing communications programs.

Principal accountabilities:

Working in conjunction with the Strategic Marketing team, develop and implement marketing communications programs to support achievement of marketing goals. Work with internal stakeholders to create and manage content for use across all relevant channels and tools, including marketing collateral and digital/ social platforms. Organize Huntsman’s presence at industry trade shows and conferences, as well as Huntsman ‘owned’ events, such as customer conferences. Manage multiple vendor relationships.  Monitor the success of marcoms programs, reporting on achievement of KPIs and ROIs, where appropriate. Develop and manage budgets. Working with the Polyurethanes regional leadership team , promote awareness and understanding of the APAC region’s strategy, performance and priorities amongst the APAC workforce. Working with HR , develop and distribute internal announcements. Update and maintain relevant sections of the Polyurethanes intranet pages (in SharePoint).

Special Features:

For certain projects, the post holder will work in close collaboration with counterparts in the Americas and Europe, and in other cases with communications colleagues in other Huntsman business divisions. The post holder needs to be able to display that they can work in total alignment with our ethics and values.

Knowledge, experience and skills required:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related degree. 15+ years of relevant experience, ideally in an international company. Advanced digital marketing skills. Creative thinking skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and solve problems. The person in this role will work on multiple projects/ tasks at any one time. Ability to flag conflicting priorities and come up with alternative solutions. Experience of Microsoft Office 365 programs preferred (note: SharePoint and Teams are used at Huntsman).
