The Resident Site Teams in Westinghouse are critical part of our business- working on the frontline as the face of Westinghouse to our customers, engaging with all the various products, services, and groups across the global Westinghouse organization to provide, timely customer- and results-focused support. The Resident Site team are high visibility roles, with regular contact across Technical, Management, and Executive levels with both the customer and Westinghouse. Site Teams identify opportunities, help develop offers, coordinate the execution of authorized work, and inform our business strategies with the customer.

The Resident Site Engineering Manager-Haiyang (RSEM) fulfills an on-going Resident Site Team (RST) contract between SDNPC and Westinghouse which has been in place since the start of HY1/HY2 commercial operations in 2019. This is a full-time assignment based at the Haiyang AP1000 Nuclear Power Plant in Shandong Province, China, and includes customer provided housing. The RSEM works daily with the Haiyang customer and with the Westinghouse Resident Site Manager (RSM) at the Haiyang site, embedded within the owner’s organization for efficient communication and engagement.

The RSEM provides in-person daily consultation, support, and coordination of ongoing Westinghouse projects and deliverables, as well as identifying and developing growth opportunities and offers across all Westinghouse Product Lines (Engineering Service, Field Service, Fuels, I&C, Components and Parts). The Resident Site team acts as both an Outage Manager (for Westinghouse work scope), and as an Emergent Issues manager to support safe and effective operation of the site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As Resident Site Engineering Manager, Haiyang, this role will serve as Westinghouse technical experts to the customer, establishing and maintaining relationships with them and within WEC in order to reach out effectively to the correct functional groups/areas in WEC for technical issues resolution. Direct link to Westinghouse engineering organizations for plant technical issues. Support Customer Refueling Outages and emergent issues as primary point of contact Provide Westinghouse technical expertise to address: technical issues resolution plant modifications/ technical solutions licensing issues Justifications for continued operations, etc. Provide technical support for the disposition of site changes, material substitutions Provide project management oversight and technical advisement for work within Westinghouse scope Work closely with the GOS Engineering team to ensure all Westinghouse delivered technical resolutions are managed in accordance with Westinghouse policies and procedures Coordinate the interface between our technical team (on-shore and at the home office) and the customer’s technical team on the resolution of engineering issues. Ensuring that systematic controls are in place to ensure Westinghouse technical solutions are implemented Ensuring proper and frequent communications between all parties in regards to engineering related issues. Enforce the use of error prevention and human performance tools at the site. Key competencies of this position include teamwork, communication, delivering customer success and driving for results. Education: Bachelor’s or Master of Science degrees in engineering or related field.

Years of Experience: At least 10-15 years of related experience in the Nuclear Industry, engineering or product management and exposure to marketing principles and processes. 

Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 10-15 years experience with at least 5 years Nuclear Industry experience Significant customer facing experience. Position requires unescorted access status for nuclear plant sites Has a working knowledge and experience with human performance tools with a strong Safety focus. Bilingual (Chinese and English) are preferred to ensure effective communication with all parties. Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with the customer and Westinghouse personnel at all levels.
