Located in the country's premier beach destination, Shangri-La Boracay is luxurious and serene haven for vacationers. Dramatically situated on a hillside in a flourishing nature reserve at the northern tip of Boracay Island, the 12-hectare resort is a 10-minute drive from the popular White Beach. The resort offers 219 rooms including 36 villas and suites; comprehensive leisure facilities; 350 meters of secluded beach front; and a thriving ecosystem of diverse flora and fauna. Within the resort, guests may find a tranquil escape in Chi, The Spa.

DUTIES

Trains, supervises and controls the work of the kitchen personnel in their sections (where applicable). His/her primary duty is to produce the best quality food items available. He/she will work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and/or Sous Chef to assure a smooth operation in all aspects of the Kitchen. The image of Shangri-La Boracay should be reflected at all times through fresh, correctly and hygienic prepared food to a quality of the highest standards. He/she must have a helpful attitude, extending beyond guests expectations. It should be noted that a Service Leader Chef de Partie will be designated in charge of any area at any time and therefore must have a full and comprehensive working knowledge of all areas within the Culinary Department

REQUIREMENTS

Experience as Commis Chef 1 in an International Hotel/ Resort or a well-known restaurant is an advantage. A graduate or has a certificate in culinary arts Knowledgeable in good practice of Hygiene and Sanitation. Expert in Italian cuisine. Knowledge in Western culinary techniques is an advantage. Displays initiative and creativity. Guest-oriented, team player and has eye for details.
