Role Overview

Join the team as an EM-Academy Engineer, a stepping stone role at MSD Electron Microscopy Services suitable for recent graduates aspiring to pursue a career as a field service engineer. This role entails a rigorous 9-month training program comprising formal instructor-led courses at our global training facilities, complemented by practical on-the-job learning in your assigned region under the guidance of senior engineer mentors.

Throughout the EM-Academy Graduate Program, you will embark on extensive travel within the region to acquire essential technical competencies in electron microscopy and hands-on experience in servicing various electron microscopy systems. Upon successful completion of the program, EM-Academy Engineers progress to Field Service Engineer roles, where they are entrusted with delivering exceptional customer service to our Electron Microscopy clients in their designated service area.

Key Responsibilities in the EM Academy Program

  • Accurately record all activities in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures while documenting work.
  • Provide constructive feedback to team members to drive continuous improvement aligned with organizational goals.
  • Successfully complete assigned training courses and excel in the end-of-program performance and skills evaluation.
  • Successfully finish the comprehensive 9-month EM Academy Graduate Program.
  • Nurture positive professional relationships with colleagues and customers at Thermofisher Scientific, ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to uphold company policies, including compliance with relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Undertake travel to customer sites for planned activities such as on-site installations and preventive maintenance.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Graduated within the past 24 months before the program commencement date or scheduled to graduate by August 2024.
  • Capable of obtaining a valid passport and willing to travel extensively, up to 80% as necessary.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Windows and Office environments.
  • Exhibit a keen interest in technology, coupled with a drive to enhance skills and expertise in service engineering.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, along with adept hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise mechanical tasks.
  • Proficiency in English is highly desirable.
