AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

[AWS China Introduction] Amazon Web Services came to China in 2013, and has been relentlessly investing and expanding our infrastructure and business since then. Amazon Web Services launched its China (Beijing) Region (operated by Sinnet) in September 2016 and its China (Ningxia) Region (operated by NWCD) in December 2017. In 2019, Amazon Web Services added a new region in Hong Kong, making China the only country with three Amazon Web Services regions aside from the U.S. In 2022, Amazon Web Services launched Local Zone in Taipei. Amazon Web Services has also established an AI lab in Shanghai and two IoT labs in Shenzhen and Taipei. The Amazon Web Services Partner Network has thousands of Partners in China. We are looking for a China Database Go-to-Market Specialist, to drive the adoption of Amazon Database Services including Amazon RDS/Aurora, Amazon ElastiCache, Amazon DynamoDB, etc.

As a Database Go-to-Market Specialist, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and assist deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon's Database Engines within the Digital Native, Enterprise, ISV, SMB, and Start-Up communities. Your responsibilities will include helping to define key market segments and/or workloads, contributing to the necessary business, and facilitating technical relationships with customers and partners to help establish new business in those markets, and supporting stakeholders in their day-to-day interactions with customers in order to build long-term business opportunity. You will also work closely with the product teams to help them evolve the products, and address issues, concerns, and requests from the field.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to support an engagement and interact at the CxO/VP level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with architects, developers, and DBAs. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus.

Key job responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the China Database team, focused on helping to drive overall the market and technical strategy for Amazon Database Services.

• Help define the database market segments, customer base, and industry verticals we target.

• Set a strategic business development plan for target markets and ensure it is in line with the company strategic direction. Fill the business development pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers.

• Work closely with our customers to ensure they are successful using our web services, and that they have the technical resources required. - Prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and NoSQL, and the database market.
