Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Corning. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing new equipment and creating maintenance processes for all equipment in the plant, in collaboration with process leaders. This includes identifying appropriate activities, frequency, and methods for those, as well as training maintenance workers.


Key Responsibilities



  • Install new equipment and create maintenance processes for all equipment in the plant, in collaboration with process leaders.
  • Monitor process using audits and data to confirm whether equipment meets performance expectations.
  • Work with operations and engineering teams to solve problems as needed.
  • Keep detailed maintenance metrics to identify areas where potential improvement opportunities exist and ensure strict compliance to schedules.
  • In troubleshooting for possible equipment or process issues, maintenance mechanical engineers will be integral part in operation to address root causes using rigorous methods.
  • Support experiments where equipment modifications may require maintenance teams.
  • Deliver improvement projects to achieve objectives in quality, uptime, cost, and capacity.
  • Support plant growth through equipment installation, documentation, and training, including close interactions with plant operations and engineering.
  • Train operators, shift leaders, managers, and other engineers on maintenance best practices.
  • Weekend and shift coverage may be required as needed.

Requirements



  • BS or higher in mechanical engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics device development working as a mechanical engineer.
  • Project management and equipment development experience is preferred.
  • Experience in troubleshooting on equipment, especially related to process issues, is a strong plus.

Desired Skills



  • Project experience of new equipment introduction, installation, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with common mechanical simulation and the ability to use related software to analyze.
