Client Solutions Team Lead - Private Equity

GLG is on the lookout for a Team Lead to oversee our Private Equity Client Solutions division. This role is pivotal in steering the team towards achieving both mid and long-term objectives. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in cultivating our Financial Services client portfolio, surpassing commercial, developmental, compliance, and personnel goals. Furthermore, the Team Lead will manage and execute research inquiries from our client firms operating in the Greater China region. Collaboration with Business Development will be essential to enhance our market presence, alongside working with regional leadership to formulate and execute initiatives aimed at improving business performance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Formulate and execute a strategic business plan in close partnership with our Leadership team, Sales team, and other GLG stakeholders to meet commercial objectives.
  • Monitor team performance and devise strategies to drive growth and revenue in both the short and long term.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients within the financial services sector, ensuring exemplary client service and leading by example.
  • Uphold best-in-class client service standards through diligent coaching of team members and support direct reports in their professional development, actively managing team performance and growth.
  • Facilitate high-value interactions between GLG experts (including industry leaders, independent consultants, academics, and former policymakers across various sectors) and our clients while maintaining industry-leading compliance standards.
  • Assist the Sales team in nurturing GLG client relationships in Greater China, including onboarding new clients and engaging senior stakeholders. This relationship-building will involve proactive outreach, project execution, client feedback, and regular in-person meetings in collaboration with Sales.
  • Collaborate closely with the GLG Network Development team to foster relationships with esteemed thought leaders and business professionals.
  • Stay informed on private capital developments and events to translate insights into valuable content for clients in partnership with Sales.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • Over 8 years of experience, preferably in consulting, banking, information services, market research, or other professional services or startup environments.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • A proactive attitude and a proven track record of driving business growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of client service professionals with both strategic insight and tact.
  • A successful history of thriving in fast-paced, client-focused environments with a strong passion for problem-solving and a client-centric approach.
  • Evident commercial acumen and interest in areas such as Sales, negotiation, networking with high-level professionals, business development, corporate development, product development, and project management.
  • The capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a willingness to engage with senior professionals as a knowledge and research partner.
