Your Role: The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction for our operations in China, addressing the complexities of local regulations, licensing, and compliance. This role is highly visible both internally and externally, requiring extensive collaboration with the Automotive Board, senior management, and legal advisors. A comprehensive understanding of the Chinese automotive market, combined with experience in sales operations, dealer management, government relations, marketing, and finance, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary representative for the business in China, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and suppliers.
  • Execute the commercial and operational strategy for the China market as directed by the Global Commercial Director.
  • Develop an organizational framework that is effective and staffed with high-caliber professionals committed to achieving ambitious goals.
  • Embed a culture of cost management and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Global Commercial Director and Sales Director to establish challenging commercial objectives for the China division.
  • Ensure adequate support for commercial and operational services to facilitate efficient business management.
  • Lead, motivate, and inspire your team and direct reports.
  • Implement branding and marketing initiatives to successfully launch our new vehicle range in the Chinese market.
  • Drive the Global PR and communications strategy to support these initiatives.
  • Develop and execute a logistics, sales, and distribution strategy for vehicle launches.
  • Oversee the sales and aftersales strategy implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Global Sales Director on future business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards regarding competition law, business ethics, and contractual obligations.
  • Guarantee that all business transactions are conducted with appropriate contracts and authority delegations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 20 years of experience across key commercial functions, including sales, marketing, aftersales, branding, communications, and distribution.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of sustained success.
  • Strong operational focus, results-driven, and adept at execution.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective commercial strategies in China.
  • Ability to generate innovative and cost-effective solutions that challenge industry standards.
  • A commitment to excellence and a passion for the automotive industry.
  • Experience working in a start-up environment with a proactive and adaptable approach.
