Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Chinese Curriculum (Primary) and the Director of Teaching and Learning to promote, evaluate, coordinate, and develop objectives and standards within the Mandarin department and across other academic areas.
  • Ensure that students receive the necessary support throughout their educational journey, establishing high expectations for achievement and maintaining exceptional academic standards.
  • Lead initiatives in curriculum development and instructional enhancements within the Mandarin department, while also contributing to the ongoing professional development of faculty members.
  • Inspire colleagues to fully engage in their roles, aligning with the values and principles outlined in the institution's Code of Conduct and vision.
  • Play a pivotal leadership role in facilitating the institution's interactions with local educational authorities, including curriculum compliance, reporting, inspections, and teacher development initiatives related to Mandarin and Chinese Humanities subjects.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chinese Language and Literature (Education) or Teaching Chinese as a Second Language or equivalent.
  • Chinese National Teaching Certificate in Chinese Subject (Primary School).
  • PGCE preferred.
  • Demonstrated involvement in relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Fluency in both Chinese and English.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

  • Monthly salary ranging from 18,000 to 25,000 RMB, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Monthly housing allowance of 4,000 RMB (dependent on experience and qualifications).
