Every position plays a vital part in the seamless operation of Marel. We are in search of a Procurement and Planning Specialist to join our team. In this capacity, you will oversee the timely provision of components and machinery while adhering to established service standards, with a focus on optimizing costs through effective management of total ownership expenses. You will be accountable for ensuring availability aligns with realistic schedules, considering both capacity and customer demands.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Execution

Establishes processes and tools aimed at the early detection and resolution of shortages and exceptions. Assesses risks related to component supply and suggests/implements corrective measures to ensure consistent supply. Analyzes component demand against available capacities, resolving discrepancies to guarantee supply. Manages the process for rejects and returns according to established priorities. Monitors Supply Chain KPIs utilizing the PDCA methodology. Oversees Master Data management. Optimizes logistics and warehousing functions to reduce operational costs while communicating any exceptions.

Organization

Strikes a balance between immediate and long-term planning. Balances urgency with detail, speed with thoroughness, and prioritizes items with the most significant impact. Integrates product life cycles into component planning to ensure availability and minimize obsolescence. Analyzes and proposes actions regarding inventory strategies and stock levels upon request. Collaborates with Supply Chain Engineers on inventory levels and execution of strategies.

Supplier Management

Oversees supplier partnerships, holding them accountable for performance. Tracks key supplier performance metrics: delivery reliability, lead times, and obsolescence. Identifies and executes initiatives to enhance supplier performance and reliability. Proposes and validates logistics agreements with suppliers.

Continuous Improvement

Engages in continuous improvement initiatives. Suggests enhancements considering workspace, departmental processes, Marel processes, and supplier operations.

Planning Tools and Techniques

Utilizes available Supply Chain tools and ERP systems to analyze data for component planning. Facilitates intelligent system planning through effective master data management. Employs tools to assess and enhance supplier performance.

Education and Experience

College diploma in mechanical manufacturing or engineering. Experience in Supply Chain processes, including planning and inventory control. Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools. Proficient in MS Office applications. Ability to read technical drawings. Proficient in local language and English. Experience in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment is advantageous.
