Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Operations Manager to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for leading internal control initiatives, managing risk, and ensuring SOX compliance. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coach team members with strong talent management skills
  • Provide support for control improvements and remediation activities, including standardization, new processes & systems, and new organizational constructs
  • Provide policy and procedure guidance, contributing significantly to the development of new policies and localization of corporate policies
  • Perform quality control on process documentation and control activity documentation, including process flows to ensure that key internal controls are properly documented and kept up-to-date
  • Participate in or lead project teams to reengineer processes to drive enhanced control while increasing productivity
  • Perform risk assessment, identify control and processes weaknesses, document main control points, and provide evidential support for report recommendations
  • Set up annual self-testing plans and RM road maps, lead teams to perform routine audits according to designed audit plans, manage risks through systematic and effective data analysis, trend tracking, and sampling audits
  • Deliver relevant department testing results, recommendations, and conclusions of audit reviews and follow up with management and Compliance teams on outstanding recommendations
  • Maintain respectful and effective communications and relationships with business partners and staff of areas under review
  • Facilitate Corp internal audit and assist in assessing audit scope and understanding local control environments as well as effective follow-up on Corp internal audit observations
  • Internal control compliance reporting requirements, including quarterly global compliance reporting and KPI reporting, annual incidents reporting, and market risk assessments
  • Assist line managers in executing ad-hoc projects and consulting assignments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA/CIA qualification is preferred
  • +5 years equivalent Public Accounting Firm and in-house internal control/Finance experience, including strong analytical and problem-solving skills, internal controls, capacity to understand complex accounting issues, and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and influence key business partners on compliance issues
  • Able to drive continuous improvement through optimizing processes and focus on high-value/risky activities, possesses well-developed planning, organization, and prioritization, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to dynamic control environments and client needs
  • Successfully manage challenges and complexities of working in a matrix organization
  • Professional written and oral communication, presentation skills, fluent in English and Mandarin

Compensation:

The estimated annualized salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 CAD, depending on location and qualifications.
