Global Marketplace Strategy Lead

This position reports to the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for leading the marketplace strategy and asset management teams to develop retail expansion and optimization strategy for the China market.
Main Responsibilities- Develop a comprehensive retail expansion strategy that aligns with business objectives and prioritizes key markets.
- Manage and track target setting for new big stores, ensuring alignment with strategic planning goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of related programs, such as new format strategies.
- Conduct advanced data analysis to inform business decisions and optimize marketplace coverage.
- Manage PLM and BPM processes, customer store support schemes, Capex/Opex planning, and compliance.
- Track Offline market capacity and market share at Regional, city cluster, and trade zone levels.
- Define and communicate GCA Retail Guardrails & Positioning with BU/brand stakeholders.
- Set retail expansion / optimization strategy across range of adidas store formats.
- Run regular cross-functional store approval meetings and act as store approval gatekeeper.
- Track and forecast store opening progress by customer, and monitor compliance with store opening/closure/relocation guidelines.
- Maintain franchise store tracking database (PLM), ensuring usability and linkage with other business functions.
- Manage franchise store opening support budget (capex and opex).
- Define, maintain, and communicate policies and procedures for assigning and allocating malls to franchise partners.
- Support customer account strategy for marketplace development.
- Manage/Report/Action on account compliance and manage dispute cases.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering related initiatives and modules on-time and with high quality. Strong rapport-building skills with key stakeholders are essential, as well as effective communication and influence skills.
Internal relationships include Senior Leadership Team, Real Estate Team, Region sales and Key Account team, Finance, and Strategic Planning Team. External consultants or other data/information resources may also be involved.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, candidates must possess 15+ years of general business experience, including experience in Business Strategy & Planning and working closely with senior management across functions.
Advanced statistical methods and analytic techniques are required, including large dataset manipulation and data mining, spatial analysis on GIS systems, and proficiency with database, statistical, and business intelligence systems (e.g., SAS, SPSS). A university degree or above in Math, Statistics, or other quantitative subjects is preferred.
A strong business sense and critical-thinking ability are necessary to solve problems using both conventional judgment and ad-hoc analysis. Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin are required, as well as an MBA or other business-related qualification.
