About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer II, Acoustics to join our team at HARMAN International. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge acoustic systems for our consumer products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement acoustic architecture designs for consumer products, ensuring optimal sound quality and ANC performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define acoustic requirements, develop concepts, and specify designs.
  • Work with suppliers to review headphone design proposals and evaluate feasibility.
  • Assist sound quality engineers with sound quality control and help improve the sound development process.
  • Lead new platform and technology evaluations, driving the implementation of new technologies.
  • Conduct acoustic verification and sound approval.
Requirements
  • Must have good hearing and be able to accurately evaluate sound quality.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of headphone-related hardware, software, and DSP fundamentals.
  • At least 10 years of experience working as a headphone acoustic system engineer in new product development.
  • Excellent spoken English language skills and ability to write technical documents in clear and concise English.
  • Good temperament and ability to work with suppliers and team members from different functions or cultures.
