About the Role
In the capacity of Senior Sales Manager, you will spearhead the expansion of HARMAN's automotive sector, aiming to achieve both immediate and future booking objectives tailored to customer needs. Your role will involve early-stage customer engagement to cultivate potential business avenues and effectively manage these opportunities with favorable commercial terms. This position is crucial for overseeing HARMAN's prospective clientele in the Chinese market from a technical perspective. You will support the sales team in identifying and defining new business prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product and business development teams to pinpoint optimal prospects, relevant use cases, and compelling value propositions, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and guiding product development.
- Implement the pursuit strategy for new business opportunities in accordance with customer account strategies.
- Identify and initiate new pursuits, facilitating early engagement activities, including strategic planning and customer RFI/RFQ processes.
- Manage RFI/RFQ responses for new business opportunities, overseeing quotes and commercial negotiations with clients.
- Develop unique selling propositions and value statements that differentiate our offerings.
- Assess customer expectations regarding costs, requirements, and timelines, establishing internal targets to meet these needs.
- Identify key stakeholders and decision-makers, crafting strategies to secure new business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Engineering.
- Over 3 years of technical sales experience in in-cabin products such as Digital Cockpit/Display, with a solid understanding of product features, benefits, and underlying technologies.
- Must possess automotive industry technical sales/system design/product architecture design experience, with a preference for candidates having 5+ years in Technical Business Development or Product Marketing.
- A total of 12+ years of relevant experience in the automotive sector.
- Established network with companies such as Geely, BYD, Changan, or GAC is advantageous.
- Proven ability to upsell and cross-sell products is a plus.
- Strong understanding of P&L statements, business cases, and contract negotiations.
- Demonstrated expertise in technical interpretation, hunting, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in executing strategic initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic technical knowledge of automotive hardware and software systems.
- Familiarity with automotive OEM organizations and processes.
- Experience working with relevant customers.
Eligibility Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 30%, including both domestic and international travel.
- Flexibility to work in various environments, including remote work options with occasional office visits.
- Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screening as a condition of employment.
