Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Corning is a leading technology company that is shaping the future of industries and the world we live in. We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team and help us deliver innovative solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, and disposal.
  • Administer Active Directory and ensure seamless user access to company resources.
  • Provide limited support for corporate mobile devices and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Familiarize yourself with cloud applications, including Microsoft and third-party solutions.
  • Troubleshoot Cisco VPN connectivity and remediate anti-virus threats.
  • Utilize remote connection tools and image deployment servers to streamline IT operations.
  • Support various browsers, software packages, and security software.
  • Manage printer and driver issues, as well as IPT-based telephony devices.
  • Utilize ServiceNow for ticket management and deploy standard IP telephony.
  • Engage with vendors and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Standardize device imaging via USB/PXE servers.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage documentation and records.
  • Onboard new hires and provide training.
  • Support conference rooms and limited Mac OS and hardware support.
  • Perform end-user equipment moves and disconnect/reconnect services.
Meeting Support:
  • Collaborate with the media team, corporate events, and IT for meeting support and problem resolution.
  • Test, monitor, analyze, diagnose, and resolve performance, technology, and process-related problems.
  • Troubleshoot issues and assign to the correct team or group.
  • Knowledge of conference room audio and display devices.
Smart Hands:
  • Install infrastructure cross-connects, patch cables, and reboot remote servers.
  • Move and install IT equipment within your space and cabinets.
  • Install IT hardware and Corning IT-supported equipment components.
  • Power cycle IT equipment and provide remote console access.
  • Escort IT vendors for other IT teams (where permitted).
  • Procure IT goods and services and receive/shipping of IT goods.
Requirements:
  • Relevant technical experience with technologies outlined in responsibilities.
  • Proficient in time management and task prioritization.
  • Advanced level of English language.
  • Effective organization and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work in a team environment and motivate others.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to change priorities at a moment's notice.
Desired Skills:
  • Hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Skilled in operating and analyzing asset management systems (e.g., ServiceNow/CMDB).
  • Basic smart hands (network configuration) knowledge.
  • Active Directory administration.
  • Experience imaging and working with deployment servers.
  • Basic knowledge management.
