Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to support the effective governance of AIIB by facilitating the smooth execution of the Board of Directors' responsibilities. As a key member of the Corporate Secretariat, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that governance processes are managed efficiently, board operations run smoothly, and the board's strategic guidance and oversight activities are facilitated to support AIIB's mandate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Oversight and Support: Provide expert advice and support in planning and managing the Board's forward-looking work program, ensuring alignment with AIIB's strategic objectives.
  • Board Operations Management: Implement and manage procedural processes of Board operations, including both official and informal meetings, to ensure seamless communication and decision-making.
  • Committee Secretary: Serve as Committee Secretary for the Committees of the Board, ensuring the successful execution of Committee meetings and events, and providing high-quality administrative support.
  • Liaison Role: Act as trusted liaison between the Board and AIIB management, ensuring clear and effective communication, and providing timely updates on key issues and developments.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare documents related to Board operations, including notices of meetings, summaries, reports, and other documents relating to the work of the Board, to the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Research and Capacity Building: Conduct research on best practices in governance, including regular monitoring and review of current processes and procedures, and recommend continuous enhancements to strengthen operational efficiency, transparency, and procedural integrity. Assist in developing and implementing capacity-building initiatives for Board constituencies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field such as finance, governance, business administration, international relations, law, or public policy.
  • 5-8 years of directly relevant experience in governance, operations, or board secretariat, ideally within international financial institutions, multilateral organizations, or similar global organizations. Experience in a global or multicultural setting is preferred.
  • Expertise in managing governance processes, board operations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and editing high-quality English-language documents, including Board reports and summaries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated success in cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management.
  • A high level of attention to detail, particularly in managing documents, reports, and procedural processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with institutional standards.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and introduce creative solutions to governance challenges.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
