Job Summary:

The Instructional Assistant will work closely with the intervention specialist and homeroom teacher to implement individualized instruction and manage student behavior. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual and small group instruction, observing and recording student learning and behavior, and attending specialist classes with the student.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and small group instruction for the student, performing various instructional and management tasks
  • Manage student behavior and ensure a safe and positive learning environment
  • Observe, record, and report on student learning and behavior
  • Attend all specialist classes with the student
  • Assist with organization and management of curricular areas as directed by the intervention specialist and homeroom teacher
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with at least two years of full-time working experience preferred
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken
  • Experience and/or knowledge of a Western educational setting preferred
  • Able to carry out directions from the intervention specialist and homeroom teacher
  • Experience with and knowledge of students with special needs
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
