The Role

Veeva Systems is seeking a China Country HR Leader (Employee Success) who is experienced in driving HR operational excellence with a customer-centric mindset, passionate about people and growth, and is business-oriented with exceptional business partnering skills.

This role will be responsible for in-country HR team leadership, including HR Operations & Business Partnering, Talent Attraction, and Workplace Services. The Employee Success Lead will identify opportunities to lead projects that enable operational excellence, focusing on driving employee success for our China team members based out of multiple cities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of the business model and local strategy, enabling business growth by providing proactive partnership at all levels, utilizing insightful data on employee experience, ensuring an engaging work environment and high-performance culture.
  • Be a consultant and counselor to local leaders and people managers, developing trusted relationships through effective business partnering, translating business needs into HR programs, and leading in-country leadership enablement initiatives.
  • Create talent focus, including talent attraction, performance management, internal mobility, and overall learning and development, providing thought partnership and coaching to enable managers to align their business objectives to talent profiles and people strategies.
  • Identify enhancement opportunities for overall China Employee Success operations, driving process improvements, program reviews/establishment, and change management to ensure the right support at scale.
  • Provide expertise on employment compliance and employee relations matters, identifying root causes and designing solutions with creative thinking.
  • Lead effective partnerships with local leaders to drive workplace experience and employee engagement for all offices in China.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of HR Generalist experience with an in-depth understanding of HR operations excellence throughout the employee life cycle, and proven experience in process enhancement & change management.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in HR business partnering and coaching for high performance in a global matrix organization.
  • 5+ years' tech industry experience – software, IT solutions/consulting company preferred.
  • Experienced in building and leading high-performing HR teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Deep understanding of how to operate in China from a cultural perspective, with up-to-date employment compliance knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt, build trust, coach, and influence. Native Mandarin speaker with business proficiency in English.
  • Able to work with ambiguity, highly resourceful, and allows flexibility. Has the skills to create impactful business-oriented people solutions through creative thinking, data analysis, and navigating challenging conversations.
