Business Unit Controller for China Ag Services and Oilseeds

ADM is a global leader in human and animal nutrition and the world's premier agricultural origination and processing company. As part of our finance team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality general accounting and close services to our Ag Services and Oilseeds China team. This position offers the opportunity to work within a strong cross-functional team environment and bring proven accounting and controlling expertise to support colleagues in achieving enterprise and business unit objectives.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of monthly financial close process and presentation of results with senior BU leaders.
- Design and monitor effective operation of internal control environment, emphasizing key financial controls for SOX.
- Oversee finance services provided by Global Business Services organization and ensure accurate financial documents.
- Partner with BU finance, commercial, and operations colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with ADM policies and procedures.
- Monitor business exposure – counterparty, credit, forex, and market risk.
- Design local policies and procedures, where applicable.
- Proactive participation in business IT application systems development and implementation.
- Support SOX audit and refresh narratives and documentation.
Your Profile
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related professional qualifications.
- 7-10 years commodity accounting experience, with public accounting and local tax experience an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including English proficiency.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and PowerBI.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Ability to think strategically and lead effectively.
