Job Responsibilities:
As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Your duties will include:
• Conducting accounting activities to adhere to reporting standards and regulations.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory and tax obligations.
• Managing general ledger accounting, fixed asset management, and lease accounting, along with period-end processes and reporting, ensuring a complete audit trail from master data to financial reporting.
• Handling tax accounting, including registration, declarations, and reporting for various tax types such as sales tax, income tax, and value-added tax.
• Performing continuous checks on financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements.
• Overseeing period-end processes, including valuations, reconciliations, and validation of financial data and reports.
• Providing guidance and expertise in accounting principles to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Identifying and addressing requirements and gaps in solutions while effectively managing change.
• Supporting interim solutions during transition periods as part of the Leap Forward program.
• Collaborating closely with Business Finance, Corporate Tax, and other relevant stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
• Strong ability to apply accounting knowledge to meet reporting and regulatory requirements.
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles (IFRS), rules, and reporting standards.
• A Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or a recognized accounting qualification.
• Relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• A proactive approach to meeting deadlines and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive results.
• Strong analytical skills to identify critical issues and process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
• Proficiency in English, with additional language skills being advantageous.
• Familiarity with Valmet's business model and operations is a plus.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills.
• Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a positive and motivating environment.
