Job Purpose

ASML, a leader in semiconductor lithography technology, is seeking a Lead Engineer for its repair operations. The primary objective of this facility is to minimize waste, enhance material reuse, and advocate for a circular economy. The Lead Engineer serves as the technical authority responsible for determining repair strategies for malfunctioning components.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be tasked with establishing the repair approach for defective service components. This involves reviewing the component's history, diagnosing the failure, and outlining the necessary competencies for repair. Additionally, you will develop a testing and validation protocol to confirm that the repaired components meet all technical requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting inspections to assess the repairability of incoming materials
  • Performing root cause analyses on failure mechanisms and identifying optimal repair solutions
  • Collaborating with global engineering teams to exchange insights and validate analyses
  • Engaging with external repair partners to devise effective repair solutions
  • Designing repair components and providing technical direction to local suppliers for prototype development
  • Acting as the technical liaison for the sourcing team, assisting in supplier selection and qualification
  • Validating the functionality of repaired components against specifications
  • Guiding repair engineers on methodologies and testing strategies
  • Documenting resolution methods and sharing knowledge across teams
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards during repair processes

Qualifications

A Master's degree in Technical Engineering, with a focus on electronics, mechatronics, or optics.

Experience Required

  • Over 8 years of experience in technical engineering within R&D or Design & Engineering in a technologically advanced field
  • Experience collaborating with external partners to co-develop and validate technical solutions
  • Proven ability in stakeholder management within complex organizational structures
  • Project management experience
