Robotics Engineer for General-Purpose Embodied Agents

NVIDIA is a leader in developing cutting-edge artificial intelligence and robotics solutions. As a Robotics Engineer in the Generalist Embodied Agent Research (GEAR) group, you will play a crucial role in building foundation models and systems for humanoid robots.

Our mission is to create general-purpose embodied agents that can explore and master complex skills across virtual and physical worlds. You will work with an exceptional research team known for their influential works on multimodal foundation models, large-scale robot learning, game AI, and physical simulation.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with world-class researchers at NVIDIA to develop robust AI solutions for humanoid robots and embodied agents;
  • Design and develop large-scale AI training and inference infrastructure for foundation models;
  • Implement robust and scalable data pipelines;
  • Evaluate and analyze AI models in physical simulation and on robot hardware;
  • Ensure seamless integration of software with research and engineering teams across NVIDIA.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent research experience;
  • Significant work experience in one or both of the following domains: Large-Scale AI Systems and Practical Robotics Systems;

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 per year.

Large-Scale AI Systems:
  • Outstanding engineering skills for rapid prototyping and product development, with proficiency in Python, C++, and CUDA;
  • Excellent knowledge of large-scale machine learning/AI systems and compute infrastructure;
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs or vision-language models;
  • Expertise in building LLM and multimodal data pipelines.
Practical Robotics Systems:
  • In-depth understanding of robot kinematics, dynamics, and sensors;
  • Ability to safely operate robot hardware, lab equipment, and tools;
  • Experience with rapid prototyping technologies, such as CAD design and 3D fabrication;
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, ROS, and machine learning frameworks like PyTorch;
  • Knowledge of control methods, such as PID, MPC, and whole body control;
  • Familiarity with simulation frameworks like MuJoCo and Isaac Sim.
