Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Overview:

This role reports to the Risk and Control QA Assistant Manager within the Business Control team at HSBC. As a key individual contributor, you will collaborate with all three lines of defense internally and with regulators externally. Your primary responsibility will be to assist Senior Managers in the Risk and Control team to ensure the effective execution of the risk and control strategy as outlined in the HSBC Operational Risk Management Framework, along with other relevant Group and Local policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality assurance evaluations to verify that Financial Crime Risk controls are executed in alignment with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to ensure that SQ controls are adhered to in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes for complaint handling to ensure compliance with relevant policies.
  • Support the line manager with various tasks, including risk and control assessments, control testing, and monitoring activities.
  • Stay informed about evolving statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, aiding in the ongoing review and enhancement of processes to uphold the highest standards of control and integrity.
  • Recognize and adapt to the changing needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess a solid understanding of HSBC's operations, as this knowledge is crucial for effective performance in the role.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Operational Risk, particularly in control testing or internal audit; familiarity with financial crime risk and regulations is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant experience in Risk Management, Internal Control, or Internal Audit is preferred.
  • Proficiency in IT applications.
