Job Purpose

The Global Procurement Director's objective is to leverage buys from all SABIC business units (SBUs) to drive cost savings and improve supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy to optimize procurement spend and improve supplier relationships.
  • Manage assigned suppliers, sub-categories, and/or customer base to ensure compliance with SABIC's procurement policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop strategies to drive growth and innovation.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements with suppliers from all regions to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including SABIC business leaders, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Drive global compliance to legislation, standards, and requirements to ensure SABIC's procurement practices are aligned with industry best practices.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration, or equivalent through experience.
  • 10 years of experience in the petrochemicals or industrial environment, with a minimum of 5 years in procurement.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze supply market trends and global geographical activities to identify business opportunities and drive strategic decisions.
  • Self-propelling individual with strong time management and communication skills.
  • Negotiation and analytical skills to drive cost savings and improve supplier relationships.
  • Administrative affinity and knowledge of SAP.
  • Steady and robust personality to engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand cultural differences across SABIC's global footprint.
  • Fluent in English, verbal and writing, with additional language skills an advantage.
