Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Director to join our team at Adidas. As a key member of our Global Non-Trade Procurement team, you will play a critical role in delivering value to our organization by driving strategic sourcing initiatives and building strong relationships with our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive business value and improve procurement processes
  • Lead and execute large-sized sourcing projects, including RFx, single sourcing, risk assessment, and supplier base assessment
  • Manage and develop a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and coaching to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, stakeholders, and business partners to drive collaboration and achieve business objectives
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and procurement metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and drive business growth

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement methodologies, business partnering, and category management
  • Experience in indirect spend categories, particularly marketing categories
  • Expertise in procurement tools and data, content, and automation (e.g., Ariba e-sourcing, Ariba P2P, e-catalogues, buying channels)
  • Proven track record of delivering sustainable savings with bottom-line impact
  • Strong analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Ability to operate at pace and respond positively to change
  • Action-oriented and solution-minded team player with high degree of self-management
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Ariba Sourcing
  • Fluent in English, to a business standard, spoken and written, additional language skills are advantageous

Education and Experience:

  • A degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on business, economics, finance, procurement, or legal, or comparable professional education
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience in a procurement role, minimum 5 years' experience in a strategic procurement position (manager level or above) with project/strategic sourcing experience and knowledge of category management practices
  • Experience in a global/matrix structure, working with shared service centers is desired
  • Experience of managing and developing teams of a similar size
