Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Manager Assistant to join our team at Remote People. As an Equipment Manager Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our container assets, including managing idling containers, negotiating contracts with rental companies, and optimizing import plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Container Asset Management
    • Manage all idling container assets in the region, including damage, sale, and off-hire, to reduce operating costs.
    • Develop and implement strategies to minimize empty container repositioning costs.
  • Contract Negotiation
    • Negotiate contracts with container rental companies to acquire new containers and optimize lease agreements.
  • Import Plan Optimization
    • Work with agents and FLOs to develop and implement import plans that reduce empty container repositioning costs.
  • Inventory Control
    • Ensure accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including container status and location.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with Inventory team members, FLOs, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the shipping industry.
  • Education
    • Any graduate preferred, with a degree in a relevant field such as logistics, supply chain management, or business administration.
  • Skills
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
    • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
