Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operations Manager to join our team at Remote People. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of container assets, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining strong relationships with container rental companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with container rental companies to acquire new contracts for buying or leasing containers.
  • Work with agents to develop import plans that minimize empty repositioning costs.
  • Manage all idling container assets in the region, including damage, sale, or off-hire, to reduce operating costs.
  • Approve Equipment On-Reposition (EOR) requests, segregate units by grade, and upgrade units based on shippers' requirements.
  • Prepare and submit MR collection/recovery reports in a timely manner.
  • Meet departmental and organizational goals.
  • Liaise with Freight Logistics Officers (FLOs), depots, and leasing companies on pending MR approvals, turnaround of damage reefers, and disputes.
  • Ensure each depot adheres to established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including inspection and repair cycles.
  • Ensure FLOs promptly update their Transaction Management System (TMS) container transactions within set KPIs.
  • Conduct regular audits with depots to ensure adherence to internal KPIs, repair standards, and criteria.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of work experience in the same field.
  • Any graduate preferred from the shipping industry.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English language.
