About the Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Commodity Manager to join our team at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our procurement organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for Combustion commodities, driving cost savings, improving quality, and enhancing supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to support Siemens Energy business objectives, engaging with local and global stakeholders within the commodities/categories to which they are assigned.
- Lead specific supplier relationships, fulfilling the accountabilities of the Supplier Relationship Leader, and responsible for the creation and/or deployment of Cost Models for designated commodities/services/products.
- Develop and implement long-term commodity strategies, utilizing market data, supplier risk analysis, and company's strategic direction to drive business growth and improvement.
- Interface with various functional areas, such as Engineering, Quality, and Finance, to resolve problems associated with the commodity and develop collaborative, trusting relationships with stakeholders.
- Negotiate quotes and contracts with traditional and advanced negotiation techniques, ensuring effective long-term supplier relationships.
- Develop and implement scoring methods to accurately assess new suppliers' strategic alignment with Siemens Energy business environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field, required.
- A minimum of 2 years of collective experience working in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sourcing, Engineering, Technical discipline, or similar function, with advanced knowledge of sourcing processes.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes for assigned commodity, excellent change management skills, and demonstrated ability to lead change.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and experience utilizing financial and data-driven techniques to make decisions.
- Ability to influence through effective verbal and written communication skills, clearly and succinctly conveying information and ideas to individuals and groups.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, business-focused, and strong team player with a can-do attitude and problem-resolution focus.
